This
concert was a bit of a surprise offering with the tickets only going on sale mid
July, but as it was my summer week off from work I decided that a few days in
Blackpool for myself and youngest daughter would be a good idea - a concert with
Tone and Rollercoasters too.
Anyone who had been on the Tony Hadley vs Peter Cox & Go West tour between January and March this year would have had no surprises with this show, it was more or less the same set that they did on the tour. I wondered whether they had arranged this date to re-record some more sound for the DVD which has been delayed due to sound problems.
The only difference between this show and the ones on the tour was that on a Monday night in August - it was hot. The boys were on top form as usual and the front six rows were filled with fans who were there to party. I wasn't sure that there would be that many people there, but thanks Blackpool, it was pretty full.
At the end of the show, it was a bit confusing where to wait for Tony. There was the back entrance where the lorry was packing up and a stage door inside. At first I waited by the back entrance, but nothing seemed to be happening there, so I went inside and Pete and Richard were meeting fans, signing autographs and posing for photos. Pete and Richard went back in and then an Opera House employee said that Tony had already gone. I had made the wrong decision to go inside and wait. Sadly I made my way back to the hotel.
It had been a good show and I had enjoyed it, it was nice meeting the northern fans.
