When I got back home from the Yeovil booksigning, I had intended to settle down with the book and start reading, but my daughter persuaded me that I needed to go to the Bristol booksigning too. I had never been to Cribbs Causeway shopping centre and my youngest was being looked after by her Granny, so it was back in the car again and up the M5. Arrived in Bristol at 6.15 pm and made my way to Waterstones. Tony had not arrived yet, but he arrived soon after. Waterstones had set out a table and chair for Tony, but as usual he made no use of them. Lurked around in the bookshop whilst other people were getting their books signed. After about 35 minutes the queue died down and Jenny (my daughter) and I joined the queue.
When we got near to the front of the queue, the Cribbs Causeway official photographer was taking Tony's picture and Tony started talking to him about his camera and asked if he could have a go with it. Tony pointed the camera at me and took my photo! The photographer left and then we were at the front of the queue. The Waterstones man was not very pleased that I was there for a chat and not to buy a book. I said to Tony 'I already have my copy of the book'. Had a nice long chat with Tony, he could see that I was with someone different and I introduced my daughter. I mentioned that I was adding to Global Warming, all the traveling I had done that day. Chatted to Tony about his interview on the James Whale show on Talk Radio, he said that he had only intended doing 45 minutes, but was there for 1 1/2 hours. I also said that I was in his Chatroom with Gina who had called the show. He was looking tired at the end of the day and I gave him my best wishes, we had a quick hug and I got my first kiss from him. He could see that I was overwhelmed by this and asked my 16 year old daughter to look after me!
I couldn't have driven home straight away, so did a spot of shopping. Drove back home, it took me until the following Tuesday to come back down from my booksigning day!
