This show was the last on the list of summer shows, due to Kelmarsh being cancelled. I had decided to go to this one as it was the nearest to me, yet still 120 miles away. It would be an all day picnic concert (starting at 4 pm) with other artistes appearing on the same bill.
The bands were on in this order:
| Artiste | Comments | Marks out of 10 |
| Showaddywaddy | I used to like these a bit in the late 70's, and thought Dave Bartram the lead singer was nice, but haven't they got old looking. Not bad set of songs with their old favourites and they were playing instruments. | 7/10 |
| The Searchers | These were a 60's band, so not my era, but they sounded ok. | 6/10 |
| Katrina | This was Katrina from Katrina and the Waves who won Eurovison a few years back. She was singing to a backing track. | 5/10 |
| Boney M | I wasn't sure whether this was the original line up, but they sang their hits to a backing track. | 6/10 |
| Leee John and Imagination | Leee was singing to a backing track and sang some of the songs he did on Reborn plus the Imagination hits. | 8/10 |
| The Real Thing | Wasn't sure how many of these were in the original band, but once they were singing their hits they were ok, but the rest of it wasn't much good and they were singing to a backing track. | 6/10 |
| Abba Gold | This Abba tribute act were dire, miming to a backing track, with fake Swedish accents, I couldn't wait for them to finish. | 1/10 |
Jason Donovan and Leo Sayer didn't show, felt sorry for the people I saw with Jason Donovan T-shirts on too.
Tony was top of the bill and came on last at 10 pm. He sang 11 songs in about an hour, he sang Free Fallin', Suspicious Minds (with Andrea), Under the Bridge, Drive My Car, Walkin' In Memphis, To Cut a Long Short, Lifeline, Only When You Leave, Through The Barricades, Gold and True (but not in that order!). He looked great and seemed to be having a good time even though Tony and the band had been to New Zealand between Blackpool on the Monday and this one on the Saturday. Don't know where Phil Taylor was as there a woman playing the keyboard. It was a pity that they were not able to do an encore as the music license ran out at 11 pm, if the terrible Abba act had packed it in earlier, we may have been able to see more of Tony. It was great to see Tony and the band and the weather had been really sunny and hot all day.
