This one wasn't on my original schedule of gigs that I was going
to go to as I couldn't make the original date, but the re-arranged date was
fine, but I didn't have anyone to go with so I decided to go on my own. I
managed to book a front row seat less than a week before the show.
As usual the show started with Up Up and Away and the first half and continued with the set that I have seen several times now. Tony was on his usual crusade against curlers and leggings. It always surprises me how quickly the first half goes, but both Tony and Martin are on top form.
The second half starts with the duet of She's Gone. I am so disappointed that they have dropped Soul Love as that was one of my favourites. Time in a Bottle is another of my favourites and this one is still in. I wish that Tony could release it as a single as I'm sure it would do well. The surprise of the evening was that Tony sang Only When You Leave. I haven't heard that one before on this tour.
Although I had a front row seat it was on Martin Fry's side and when Martin's ABC songs came along, I got up to dance and thankfully, lots of other people joined me which was good, I would have felt a bit of a lemon if they hadn't and then I managed to get right in front of Tony's microphone.
I think there were less people there because the date had been changed, but I think that everyone who went had a good time, I certainly did. I enquired about where the stage door was and was told that it was in the middle of a closed shopping centre, so I decided that it would probably be best to head back home as it was unlikely that I would see them and I had to be at work the next morning.
