Another
weekend, oops I've been to see Tony again, 9th Concert on the tour and 7th
venue. Another two concerts in a day but this time I only went to the late
show. Not the nearest venue for me but I had promised to take my daughter to see
her friend in Kent and she worked out that this one would persuade me to go, she
could see her friend and I could see Tony!
Second row seat this time, but on Martin Fry's side. The camera police were out in force, but for some reason they didn't challenge me, but I try not to be too obvious when I take my photos.
There were quite a few of the 'regulars' at this gig and we couldn't wait to stand up and dance, so we got up when Martin Fry was singing 'Poison Arrow' but when Tony came back on he told us to sit down again as he was going to sing a slow song. The first half of the show went really quickly, I don't know where the time went in the interval, too busy chatting. It was time for the chairs to come out and for Tony and Martin to sing 'Soul Love' and then for Tony to sing the lovely 'Time in a Bottle' with Phil and Richie on acoustic guitars. When Martin Fry came on again it was time for us to encourage the rest of the audience to get on their feet and thankfully they did and stayed there until the end of the show.
'Walking in Memphis' seems to be a permanent fixture in the set list and they are having great fun with it, the Brass section, Richie and Phil W all doing actions to the song and Tony got so carried away with it that he forgot where he was and couldn't remember the next line.
Too soon it was all over again and time to head to the stage door, quite early as it was a 7.30 pm start, stayed in the venue for a while before going outside, almost missed Martin Fry. I was too busy chatting to check how long it was before Tony came out to see the quite large crowd of people, but Tony had time for everyone.
No show next week as it is Tony's mid tour skiing holiday. Have fun Tone, see you in Torquay!
