This
was show number six and my third on the tour. It just gets better and
better. For those of you who know what part of the UK I live in may be a
bit surprised that I was in Halifax, but it was a Saturday night and I only work
weekdays so when I was asked if I would like to go, I said yes. I decided
to fly up to Leeds/Bradford airport and make my way to Halifax from there, this
cut down my travelling time by nearly half.
I had a wander around Halifax in the afternoon and then went for a meal before the show. It was then time to take my front row seat at the lovely old Victoria Theatre in Halifax.
The set was exactly the same as Basingstoke and Milton Keynes. I like the way that the beginning of the set is the same as the CD, it is so familiar now. Even though there are so many songs the time goes by really quickly, I'm really enjoying the tour and I think Tony is too. There was a slight change of personnel in the band, the woman saxophonist wasn't there, but I was told by someone who was at Preston the previous night that the band were the same as then. Chatted to friends in the interval and it was soon time to go back to my seat.
The
second half went by quickly too, but we managed to stand for the last five
songs. It was an excellent show and it was a pity that it was over so
quickly. The signing was in the theatre this time because the foyer was
too small and unsuitable for this, so we sat in the seats and waited to speak to
Tony.
The next morning I went past the theatre and saw this poster (shown left) on the side of the theatre. I really wanted it but it measured 4 ft by 6 ft and I had no idea how I would get it home on the flight or what I would do with it once I got it home. The theatre was closed so I couldn't ask if they could get it out of the frame for me, but it would have been a lovely bit of memorabilia. So I just ended up taking a photograph of it. I'm sure the theatre would have just put it in the bin.
