If Barnstaple just rocked, then Hammersmith just kept on rocking, rocking, rocking.
This one at Hammersmith was the last one of the tour, and as usual, I hadn't intended to go to this one. Late booking, so only got Row S, decided that I didn't want to end the tour with the thoughts of the people at Plymouth who were just content to sit there and clap politely. Tony and Pete's tour has just got better and better. It would have been a great pity to have missed this one.
Decided to go up to London by Train, took my daughter with me. Booked into a hotel near Paddington Station, room turned out to be a glorified cupboard, just big enough for the beds and it had the smallest bathroom I have ever seen. Hit Oxford street for a bit of shopping in the afternoon. Left Paddington for the Tube to Hammersmith at 6 pm. Got slightly delayed at Paddington, arrived at Hammersmith at 6.45 pm, found out that the last tube back was at 12.30, got a bite to eat and then off to the Apollo, pick up the tickets and get to our seats.
Show started slightly late. The set list (I think) was the same as Plymouth. Tony's banter was the best ever. Stood up for most of the show, determined to have a good time, despite being in Row S (although they were fairly central). First half flies by, fight my way to the bar for half time refills. Back to standing up in my seat for the second half, which flies by far too quickly.
I can't believe that the tour is over, I've had such a great time. I really didn't mean to go to five of the shows, but I just got addicted to Tone and Pete (and Richard).
Waited round afterwards, missed the last tube, but eventually Richard came out at 12.45 and Tony at 1.00 am. Tony said that we were all mad to wait that long. I agree with that! Tony laughed when I said that they had let me out of the South West! Had my photo taken with Tony, its just terrible, I look completely off my trolley. I recognised a few of the people waiting from pictures on websites. Caught the night bus back to Paddington and luckily they let us back in the hotel at 2.00 am.
Great end to a great tour, made much better by the coming together of the Go West and Tony fans. I don't think there was any of the vs going on, except at Bristol.
