As our last chance to see Tony in 2007 and have a Christmas Party, this was a must. After looking at the indigo2 website where it stated if you bought balcony tickets you would not be allowed downstairs, we decided to go for the downstairs meal package. The rest of the tables had been sold as corporate Christmas Parties, so most of the rest of the people there were not there to see Tony.
The evening started with a Champagne reception and we found our table, it was fairly near to the front. There was a dance floor in front of the slightly high stage. We took our places at our table and I think Joe Stilgoe started the entertainment singing swing songs. Claire Teal was up next. The acts were separated by the dj playing music. Tony then did the first of two sets of swing songs. Mark Butcher the cricketer did a set, he is a good singer too. Tony was up again. It was great to have two sets from him. He definitely sang 'True', 'Gold', 'Wives and Lovers', and 'That's Life' but I can't be sure what else he sang or in which set it was as there weren't any set lists to collect as Tony had his file with the details in it. Simon Willescroft and Dave Williamson were part of the orchestra and I was sure there were a couple of musicians who had been of the big band tour present too.
We thought that Tony may have joined in with the meal, but he didn't. They seemed to have problems with the serving of the meals as many were sent back because they were cold.
It was a nice venue, part of the former Millennium Dome, the night we were there, the Spice Girls were appearing at the o2 arena and Tony made a few jokes about this.
