A gig so close to the Fandango? Probably not such a good idea but as it was my hubby's birthday that week it would be nice to go away for the weekend. Only the length of the M5 to travel.
We left around lunch time, but got delayed just before Bristol, so the whole journey took us an hour longer than expected, consequently l had less time to get ready as the doors opened at 7.30 pm. Got to the venue around opening time and met up with my friend and made our way to the stage and stood second row.
The ticket said that there would be a support act, but as the last time I had been to this venue, one had been advertised and then there hadn't been one, I was surprised that this time there would be. They came on about 8.30pm and did a set of about 6 songs. Another surprise that I had was that the venue had lifted the picture that used to be on the home page on here and had used it to advertise the gig for at least the previous three months.
The gig started at a very late 10 pm but Tony was on good form although he seemed to have a bit of a croaky voice when talking between the songs. His singing was still excellent and up to his usual standard.
My enjoyment of this gig was severely marred by two drunk women who had pushed in front of us and one of whom stood on my foot with her stiletto heel.
It was a good set and Tony was rocking. Between 11.30 and midnight the gig ended and time to wait for Tony at the Stage door. I didn't notice how long it took Tony to come out but he spoke to everyone waiting and I had my Fandang bowling team t-shirt signed.
