The
Wessex stadium rocked! It was a great combination of Tony's tour
with both Peter Cox and Martin Fry, plus more.
We arrived just before 5 pm and were asked to wait in the first car park, after a while we were allowed into the car park next to the stadium and all got out of our cars and started queuing - they were doing a sound check at this point and were able to hear it. It tried to start raining, but thankfully this came to nothing. I was very worried that we would get soaked when I was awoken at 4 am by thunder and lightening directly overhead and heavy rain, luckily this weather made its way up the south coast and although it was cloudy, it was fairly warm and no rain fell during the concert. Eventually we were allowed into the stadium, the stage had been erected at the far end of the pitch and most of the pitch was available to sit or stand on, you could also sit in the stand. There was a mad rush for the front of the stage (well a little way back as there was a barrier about 3 or 4 metres from the stage). I didn't manage to get to the front row (although I could have and been on the side), but decided that second row in the middle was better.
The show started with the trio of Tony, Martin and Pete singing Addicted to Love. As far as I can remember the set went as the set lists, but Martin definitely didn't sing The Very First Time and I'm not sure that Drive my Car came at the end of the first half. They were singing on their own, in duos and trios with up to 15 people on stage at any one time and at one point there were five guitarists on stage.

The first half was about an hour and then they had a twenty minute break and the second half was about an hour as well. Too soon it was over, but it had been an excellent show.
