Weymouth was my last gig, the penultimate gig of tour. This was my 11th show, even though I had originally only planned to go to eight, it was also my local show, if you count 65 miles away as being local! I'd managed to secure front row middle, the best seats on the tour as a whole, unfortunately the seats at the Pavilion Theatre were sloping backwards sort of cinema style, it seemed a strange position to sit in and I sat on the edge of my seat for the whole of the first half.
The first half took the usual format, I think my favourite songs of that half were 'Young Girl' and 'Maid in Heaven', but my spirits always dropped at the beginning of 'Money' as I knew it would be the end of the first half. Time for a chat with friends during the interval and to wonder what will come out of the box for the second half.
The second half started as usual with 'Who Are You' and the front row soon stood up, thankfully out of the uncomfortable seats and remained there until the end of the show. A bribe of sweets had been given but they didn't work this time, Tony just threw the sweets out into the audience. I loved his version of With or Without you and he got his guitar out again for Lets Stick Together. The show ended on a high with Tony's brilliant version of I Predict A Riot.
At the end of the show after getting the set lists, we made our way out and asked the Theatre Manager where the stage door was, he pointed to an inside door marked Stage Door, we waited there, unfortunately nobody told Tony this and he left by a door at the other side without seeing us. So if you go and see somebody there and want to see them afterwards, bear this in mind - btw Go West are going there in the Autumn.
